Season II Begins

Sadly, the old world is gone, and we begin anew. Due to DB corruption and mod incompatibilities, we had to reset the world and reorder mods, but yesterday's play with five players on and a full day of uptime with zero crashes means we are in excellent shape.

Thank you to all our season one testers! I know you lost a lot of progress, but we are now on a better, more stable server configuration thanks to all your hard work and testing. Thank you also to those who tested our system hard, caused crashes, and helped us weed out the troublesome parts. Your contributions are also appreciated, and we look forward to seeing you back!

I checked server logs with AI all day yesterday, and we have an excellent report card. We are looking great with our current modded configuration, and I am not changing a thing for the rest of season two.

We got rid of a buggy mod but added "item stats on bench" for our crafters as a huge quality-of-life mod.

Season two has an across-the-board 10% XP modifier, and the progression yesterday felt perfect. We like a slower progression server where you are forced to explore and be in an area longer. Our players are reporting having to farm drops harder for items, since that quick leap to crafting does not happen so quickly. Looting treasure boxes is a must for good gear!

With this slower rate of progression, we aim to take things a little slower and enjoy the game to its fullest. This feels like old EQ1 or launch-day World of Warcraft, where you would spend all day getting from level one to ten, and have that satisfied and good feeling when you ended the day. Many of us miss that feeling of not rushing and just enjoying the world and what it has to offer. Every level is special and an achievement.

We will have triple XP weekends on three-day weekends! Use this to catch up alts! We want you logging in and having fun here, and those long weekends are perfect for zoning out and gaming all day.

We are trying new things, working thralls harder as NPCs, and building new towns and locations. We are going multi-guild and faction, too! The core guild, Hyborian Heroes, is the server's core "family guild" and will have the best POI and town resources. We already have another faction here, working on secretive plans...

Where Season One was us trying things out, figuring out what mods we liked, and getting used to the systems, Season Two is about slowing down, enjoying things, and settling in for a deeper, more immersive experience. We know what we want now, what the builds are, how magic works, and the rewards and story goals we all want to pursue. The world is more dangerous with Night Terrors and Purges active. Progression is slower, and gear is harder to come by. The world is a more dangerous place, not as casual as Season One felt at times.

We are settling in for a long, fun, and challenging season of adventure to come!

Thank you again to our Season One testers, and we are looking at a long, rewarding, and fun-packed Season Two!
