Let it be recorded, the first school mage of a practiced art of magic, as chosen by Goddess Mysti, is the Seraph Ivorysong. She has been gifted the art of water magic, as is her natural alignment with the waves and oceans, and Ivory has promised to stay true to the path and only practice the art of water.
As a lower-level initiate, Ivory's powers are limited and far below those of her mother, but she has a collection of capable and potent magics to wield for anyone who chooses to take her along on a quest. She currently resides in the inn and awaits an invitation from capable adventurers so she may improve her equipment, gain power, and practice the balance that magic requires.
As a mage, there are certain negative factors to magic along with certain powerful ones. The power and connection to magic are reduced by armor, so she requires light armor and needs to work on her positive mana aspects for magic (authority, grit, and level), and avoid the negative aspects (strength, agility, and armor), and the neutral elements do not penalize her (expertise and vitality). Too many negative factors, and her connection to the magic shall weaken.
As for others gaining this power? Speak to Goddess Mysti when she is about, and she may grant your wish, or ask you to prove yourself worthy of the power. These schools are speciality fields of study, unlike sorcery, which you can pursue without the Goddess' blessing and on your own, should you know where to look. Goddess Mysti can also demonstrate powers for you, should you wish to see them and decide if the path is for you.
As for Ivorysong, she has a long road ahead of her to walk to achieve mastery.
